A Statutory (Stat) holiday is basically a “paid day off”.
There are 4 national stat holidays, they are; New Years Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, and Christmas Day.
All other stat holidays are either Provincial or territorial holidays. Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day are celebrated but are not official holidays.
